Lysander, a multiple winner on the Flat at around ten furlongs in Germany, made up a lot of ground in the closing stages to be a clear second best. He clearly has ability and there is improvement in him, probably over further.
Maneki Neko (100-1), twice a winner on the Flat when with Mark Tompkins, improved a deal on his hurdling debut and was a clear third best, though no match for the first two.
Malt De Vergy looked as if he was going to get into it racing into the final bend, but he stopped quickly and something may have been amiss. The vet later reported Acropolis was lame in the left fore. Nicky Richards reported Le Chiffre finished distressed.
