Craven had made hard work of winning both his bumper and novice hurdle, looking inexperienced and unsure quite what was required of him under pressure on both occasions, but he was beaten fairly on this occasion and was simply not up to conceding the winner weight. A fine looking animal, he is going to stay further and is probably worth another chance, with hisfuture almost certain to lie over fences.
Easter Present, reverting to hurdles after unseating on his chase debut behind Iris's Gift at Bangor, was no match for the front two and was beaten a long way, but that was always likely to be the case anda return to fences is imminent.
John Diamond is learning with experience and put in some good late work, looking a tad unfortunate not to get fourth, having been impeded at the third-last. Although very mucha chasing type, he may be capable of winning a small race before going fencing.
Witness Run, an Irish point-to-point winner who failed to see out his race on his hurdling debut at Windsor, raced too keenly for his own good reverting to two miles and again failed to get home. He was a negative in the market and the best of him may not be seen until he tackles handicaps.
