The ready winner, RARE SOCIETY, had run pretty well over fences prior to twice hitting the deck, so this victory over hurdles should do his confidence the world of good. He's very likely not a bad horse, and it would not be a big surprise if his shrewd connections placed him to win handicaps - possibly over fences and hurdles - this season.
Another Jameson had some half-decent form, although on deep ground, but she showed a capacity to handle quicker going here, while also underlining that she stays all day.
Glen Harley ran out of puff up the hill, while both Sir Rowland Hill and Ad Murum were desperately disappointing. The former was a heavily backed odds-on favourite, but he was beaten a mile from home and is obviously better than he showed here. That said, he is not a betting proposition.
