Well beaten at Uttoxeter earlier in the month prior to unseating at Wetherby on Thursday, the winner was a revelation here, travelling smoothly just in behind the leaders before coming home to score cosily. That said, he didn't achieve much, and it would be mighty dangerous to get carried away.
Per Amore rather ran in snatches, as he was off the bridle going past the stands, but he stayed on to take third, while Pavey Ark plugged, albeit at only the one pace.
The winner's stablemate He's Hot Right Now was reportedly fancied by his connections, but he was a spent force a long way from home.
