A moderate but reasonably competitive handicap.WILD POWER took full advantage of the chance given to him by the handicapper and gained his first win since November 2004, with the exception of a recent charity Flat race at a point-to-point. He has not always found much when the pressure has been on, but his attitude could not be faulted this time. The stewards considered his improved form compared with his run at this course on February 12, but having heard from the trainer's representative that thegelding is inconsistent they decided not to hold an enquiry.

Jupon Vert is laudably consistent but just found one too good. He has won off a 6lb higher mark and his turn should come round again.

Pauntley Gofa put a series of non-completions behind him with a better run, but merely plugged on in the latter stages.

Nagano could not make any impression from the fourth last and looks high enough in the weights over fences.

Solar At'em ran well for a long way but faded from the second last.

Madison de Vonnas should have finished close to Jupon Vert based on their meeting at Huntingdon in January but was always struggling after a mistake at the fourth.
