A cracking finish to this novice handicap, in which winner NAZIMABAD was responsible for setting a strong pace. The game looked to be up when he was collared at the fourth last, but he fought back to lead on the run-in and just held on as the runner-up rallied. He appreciated the drop back to the minimum trip and had been freshened up for a spring campaign since a disappointing run in November.

Misty Dancer was also having his first run since November, having taken two falls in as many starts over fences. Jumping really well this time, he showed ahead four from home but was unable to get clear and was collared after the last. Rallying, he just failed to get back up on the nod. He did nothing wrong at all and can find compensation.

Rash Moment, who needs much further than this and softer ground, was only getting going after the final fence.

Whaleef eventually paid the price for chasing thepace, as did Imperial Rocket who was only run out of third from the final fence.
