Analyis of the race

Just an ordinary bumper, but at least it was run at a true pace. DANCEWITHTHEDEVIL made steady progress before taking up the running going well, but McCoy had to get serious with him in the closing stages as he idled in front. The drop in trip and better ground did the trick after he had twice failed to get home over two miles in heavy conditions.

Mocho, whose dam won a bumper on fast ground first time out, was being given reminders at an early stage but he responded to pressure to make the winner work for his victory. He is some way from the finished article and should come on for the experience.

Young Guns, runner-up in an Irish point but well held on his bumper debut, confirmed that he has ability without being able to land a blow.

Luccombe Bay stayed on as if in need of further, as befits a daughter of a winning pointer.

Ganache showed in front at the end of the back straight but was soon headed by the winner and failed to get home. He would appear to have stamina limitations.
