Just an ordinary gallop to this novices' chase which developed into a sprint from four out. BANNOW STRAND, who went up from 103 to 127 for his easy win at Cheltenham in November, came back to form here after a below-par effort at this course last time. Jumping well, he dictated the pace and though edging left after the last, ran on well enough to score driven out. In view of the moderate gallop the form isn't cast iron, but the winner did it well enough and should be able to win off his current mark.

Supreme Serenade ran a solid enough race here though left the impression that she wasn't ideally suited by the stiff fences as she made a few errors. However, she ran on well enough after the last and though she doesn't have that many opportunities in novice events, she ought to be able to find another race.

With his mark of 130 Without A Doubt isn't easy to place and he faded from the second last to finish a well-beaten last.
