No great strength in depth here, but the pace was sound and it produced an interesting winner in LORD BROCK, who was having his first try over fences and his first run since March. In the main he jumped well, and travelled well and after going on in the straight, he scored driven out. He came into the race on his hurdles mark of 110, and though he'll go up a good bit for this, he left the impression he's going to prove a much better chaser than hurdler so can find further opportunities providing he has the soft ground he needs.

Toon Trooper had shaped creditably on his previous start, and confirmed that with a solid run in second. He should be able to find a small race.

Ironside wasn't disgraced on his first run over fences, but it remains to be seen how he progresses as he has been a shade disappointing over hurdles.

Special Conquest, who was up with the pace from the outset, ran his best race for a while and the way this contest panned out, is better than the bare form so he's worth keeping an eye on next time. Victory Gunner was never going well.
