Hamaasy showed very good early speed but at half way hung from the far side to nearside rails and still managed to beat all but the winner home. Had he been drawn on the stands it is reasonable to suggest he would have won.
Smirfys Night, one of the two to race on the stands side from the outset, kept on well and it was a good first run of the campaign.
Quicks The Word ran quite well here last time and put up another fair effort, while Sundried Tomato was very keen and then hung right in the closing stages. His saddle reportedly slipped, as did that of Royal Pardon.Better could have been expected from the Weakest Link, while Haulage Man never got in a blow.
