Dropped back in trip after her thirdin the Lingfield Oaks trial, she was cruising as they straightened for home and after nosing ahead more than a furlong out she stretched well clear. Henry Candy blames himself for earlier frustrations, because he had been trying to get her to stay when racecourse evidence suggests she has speed in excess of stamina. He reckons she has the speed for a mile, but the target now is the Listed 10f Ballymacoll Stud Stakes at Newbury next month, after which it is hoped she will graduate to Group company.
Newcomer Quenched shaped well in second, having been somewhat trapped on the rail behind Muntada when Summer's Eve was making her move. She was going on nicely at the finish, not unduly knocked about, and she will improve on this.Gower Song, though beaten a fair way in sixth, is another who can run in handicaps now.
*Shane Kelly reported that Virginia Plain was unsuited by the ground.
*Alan Munro reported Whistleupthewind hung left.
