Hatteras looked to owe his finishing position as much to others struggling for stamina as only the first three were still running from the last, with Star Galaxy stopping as if shot after hitting two out when still in the mix, while Coach Lane virtually stopped to a walk on the run-in, having jumped the last in contention.
Tamreen did well enough under his big weight. He has had his training problems with only three career starts and, while the form is debatable, he kept staying on without threatening to land a telling blow as if a bit further might suit.
Albert House travelled well in the lead, but looked to lose his action early on the last circuit and, after hitting the sixth, his rider was not happy and pulled him up before the next. He returned sound enough to suggest he had rapped himself on a hurdle and he deserves another chance.
