With the help of her 7lb sex allowance, My World outfought Medison from the last despite having made her only mistake at that fence as Medison was cajoled alongside. My World could be aimed at a mares' only race (having experience over fences in France she was not qualified for the mares only chase series) which should scare off many rivals and she should get further in time, although connections feel two and a half might be as far as she wants.
Medison obviously has temperament issues, judged by his reluctant start, veering badly right off the course. He then walked through the second fence, but still came swinging into contention, flying the fourth-last when asked to devour it. He was switched to the inside rail going to the last to challenge, but presented with the prize by his rival's blunder he lookedto pass it up. It was amazing totesports kept him at 25-1 for the Arkle on this display. While the bare form looks decent enough, especially as he was conceding 7lb, he was entitled on his hurdle form to still win well and his manner was most offputting. It may be that he wants softer ground and a galloping track, but he has plenty to prove on the resolution front.
Neophyte got geed up by the addition of blinkers and hared off into a clear lead, so it was not surprising that he was a spent force before the last half-mile.
