A moderate event with an unlikely looking first victory over fences going to FULLARDS, who took advantage of the last-fence fall of the long-time leader. He had moved up to bustle up the leader with a circuit to go but was soon outpaced and was trailing three out. He was closing when the leader capsized at the last but it would have been touch and go whether he got up and his victory didn't inspire confidence for the future.

Unusual Suspect was soon a mile behind but stayed on his feet to gainthe second spot and Lady Lambrini came to a halt when she collided with a fence handler after the last when holding no conceivable chance.
