What seemed an intriguing clash between Cheltenham hopefuls, NOLAND and Boychuk, became a one sided affair from some way out. The winner,rerouted from Newbury's abandoned meeting on Saturday, stamped himself a real Festival candidate with a very decent show of jumping and staying power as he,and runner up Mister Quasimodo, came well clear in the straight. He now lines up for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle and on this showing there is every chance he will make his presence felt as this was fairly convincing stuff from him.

Some may crab the form due to the bare form due to the runner-up's placing but he is a progressive horse given testing conditions and a real gallop. However he will not be seen at his best until next term when he jumps fences.

Manners, having his first run for ages, was not disgraced and should benefit for the outing.

Classic Role, runner-up behind Straw Bear last time, again ran with a degree of promise and should open his account when his sights are lowered.
