Analyis of the race

A strong gallop to this novices' chase in which LOCKSMITH regained winning ways after a below-par run last time at Newbury. Although he raced up with the pace, he kept up the gallop in good style and left the impression that he is better than the bare form. That said, the race did not turn out to be anything like as competitive as it appeared beforehand as form pick Town Crier ran a disappointing race and the ex-French, Pak Jack, was struggling throughout.

Town Crier had been in excellent form over fences, but was very disappointing this time and Colliers Court dropped right out after helping set a strong pace.
