Analyis of the race

Two previous winners in this race, but neither of them could cope with newcomer NO REGRETS, who got up close home to get the better of long-time leader Oscardeal, one of the previous scorers, with the other, Stagecoach Diamond, back in fourth. The winner, a likeable sort, stuck to his task in great style and looks open to further improvement.
Oscardeal, who set a modest gallop, proved hard to pass in the straight, but, after drifting left in the closing stages, was finally worn down.
Stagecoach Diamond had every chance early in the straight, before coming up short when the chips were down.
Of the others, Ally Shrimp and Ring The Boss showed signs of ability on their debuts and will surely improve for the experience.
