Analyis of the race

A strongly run mares' event went to DANCING PEARL, who was 10lb higher than when winning it last year. Ridden from off the pace, she benefited from the second hitting the last, and ran on in good style. She may go for the County Hurdle next, but her trainer then intends stepping her up to two miles five furlongs for a mares' handicap at the April meeting at Cheltenham.

Norma Hill ran a sound race, as she raced up with the pace and was still just in front when she made her mistake. She should be winning soon.
