Analyis of the race

Just an ordinary handicap hurdle, though run at a pretty decent gallop from the outset. The sound surface suited FARD DU MOULIN MAS, who was having only his second outing since last April. He saw his race out in gritty style and, although he's nowhere near the horse he was in his youth, he clearly possesses enough ability to win at this level, despite having suffered injuries and having broken blood vessels in recent years.

Halland had every chance, but was just outpointed by the winner on the run-in. Still learning, he should not be long in winning a handicap.

Shazal was far from disgraced, but Honan, having made a forward move turning for home, then stopped as if shot and trailed home last.
