Analyis of the race

The time for this moderate opener was 12 seconds above standard and the going appeared more good to soft on the hurdles track. The top weight was rated 98 and ERROL was running off 87. He hadn't shown his best form on his previous outing when he stumbled, but he travelled well for most of the way this time, and though he took time to pick up, he led after the last. He may stay a little further but isn't an obvious candidate to follow up.

Blue Leader had every chance, as he went on two out but then seemed to idle and was caught. He goes up another 3lb after this, but may be capable of scoring off his new mark.

This was a much better run by Sunnyside Royale, who left the impression he can improve again. Prince Slayer wasn't disgraced but has yet to win, while Donna's Double never showed.
