The winner, who had had one or two little hiccups since making a winning debut at Windsor in November, looked well for his reappearance and produced a professional display, jumping well, travelling strongly within himself and running on strongly to the line. He could be decent.
Pretty Star fulfilled the promise he showed at Newbury last time and had every chance, only to find the winner too strong when the chips were down. He should not be long in winning.
Resplendent Star shaped pretty well and Mel In Blue was in the process of running a good race when making a real mess of the penultimate flight.
