Analyis of the race

Not necessarily a strong contest as though six of these seven were winners only two had scored in better than Class 5 or 6 company and after going a very good gallop there was not a great deal between the first four at the line. But MUBAASHIR has done nothing wrong to date and accomplished his task in workmanlike fashion here, racing in the slipstream of the leaders from the off, pushed along on the home turn but keeping on to lead well inside the final 1f. He had the run of the race the way things panned out but he was comfortably on top at the line, will improve again and is one to keep on the right side of.

Cav Okay was very much the one to beat judged on his Newbury debut victory but he could not dominate as he had that day and though he was to the fore from the off it was only 1f out that he got in front and he could find only one pace in the closing stages. His Newbury form has not worked out brilliantly but he was unquestionably below it here and may be worth another chance when more likely to get his own way back on a more conventional track.

Well-drawn Lord Charles showed the best early pace and made most until 1f out, then foundno extra close home - he looks a speedy sort and is clearly over his previous tendency to start slowly. Smirfy's Silver was soon outpaced in rear but kept on in the final 1f - he will be suited by a stiffer test and reverting to maiden company. Neither Hucking Hill nor Ask Don't Tell was able to show what they could do as each was slowly away and unable to recover the ground on a track where tardiness from the gate is invariably fatal.
