Orcadian would surely have won if he hadn't displayed the quirky side of his nature, as he was soon leading but continually hung right off the bends and almost pulled himself up over half a mile from home. However, he then consented to put his best foot forward and, despite hanging left on the final bend, only lost out in the final strides. The ground had come right for him and he is capable of scoring at Group 3 level again if all goes right for him.
Compton Bolter wouldn't have been suited by the ground and ran accordingly, while the remarkable Mubtaker, who appeared to be unsuited by the course and ground, was never travelling. He is infinitely better than this and will no doubt be winning again on a more conventional course. [TE]
