NINE DE SIVOLA is improving with every race and, although his task was made easier here by the last-flight fall of Unexplored, he appeared to be getting the measure of the favourite at the time. A thorough stayer, but also a horse with a good finishing burst, he was just jumping into the lead when Unexplored crashed out and the way he stayed on to the line suggests it would have taken a mighty effort from the faller to deny him.

Cash King was left to come home second, but was no danger to the winner, while the keen-going Brave Rebellion, who is proving a frustrating horse, was a well-held third.
