Analyis of the race

Four-times a winner over hurdles in the past 12 months, BROOKLYN BROWNIE continues to progress and put up a pleasing performance on his chasing debut. He gets away with good to soft, but appreciates good ground and two and a half miles suits too. He is a 鷔ummer' horse with more to offer.

Topinambour just got a bit out paced racing to the home turn, but he stayed on in the straight. Twice a winner on the Flat and over hurdles in France, this was his first run in Britain and first since October2004, so this was an encouraging effort.

American President was a bit too keen for his own good, but he jumped well on his chasing bow and once he settles better he will not be long getting his head in front.

UptownLad made a bad blunder at the last in the home straight on the first circuit and was always struggling after. He is better than this bare form.
