Analyis of the race

Ridden with plenty of confidence, RANDOM NATIVE impressed on his seasonal return, a wind operation and decent ground having brought much improved form out of him over hurdles. He is a dual bumper winner and there will be more to come now.

LordOn The Run had loomed up menacingly two out, but could not match the pace of the winner in the straight. A winner of a novices' handicap chase on good to soft, he is one to keep in mind when he goes back over fences.

The Right People, having hisfirst run for more than three months, stayed on and he may appreciate a longer trip.

Wot Way Chief had been a little bit keen, but had every chance at the bottom of the hill and, although soon under pressure, he kept on in a manner that suggests he will appreciate further when he settles properly.

Cardington was second in the straight and then just plugged on, but it will have been a confidence-booster after a fall last time out, his first run for two years. On easier ground he will be worth a look when he goes chasing.

Bargain Hunt, having his second run in as many days, was not far away and still seemingly going well enough when he lost his back legs and unseated his rider two out.

Wilson Renwick reported that Rhuna Red finished lame.
