Amalfi Storm had every chance and just found the winner too good. She kept on and is showing better form now.
Timbuktu went on from the outset and all credit to him for sticking to his task so well to take the minorberth. The blinkers seem to be helping the cause and there ought to be a race like this in him.
I'm Your Man, a winner on heavy ground last week, handled this quicker surface well enough and though not able to get in a blow stayed on well in the closing stages after getting outpaced on the turn.
Baby Sister was tapped for toe after three out and just plugged on.
Schinken Otto was keen early, but was still not far away until finding things a bit hot coming up the hill. However it was his first run for over three months (the last was on the Flat) and there may be a bit better to come.
The stewards noted explanations from each trainer and jockey over the running and riding of both Compton Dragon and I'm Your Man.
