More competitive on paper than might have been expected for a handicap restricted to chasers of ten or older, with quite a few of interest, but plenty seemed to find this too tough a task in the conditions and the bottom weights dominated again at the end of a race run at a good pace for the trip. SIR FROSTY had shown he handles the track when winning this race last year and proved the point with a repeat success, jumping to the front six out, soon clear and holding on gamely. He had not shown much in recent runs but was doubtless being aimed at this race again and is set tor an honourable retirement.

Behavingbadly was 19lb out of the handicap but his light weight was important and he ran a fine race, always in touch and pressing the winner onthe run-in, confirming the impression from his previous start that he is back in form.
