The decision to drop lightly-raced ON Y VA back to two and a half miles on this testing ground paid off when, despite having travelled and jumped well, he had nothing to spare at the line. His connections will not be averse to stepping him back up tothree miles on better ground.

Trisons Star was below par last time, but he was back in good form here. He made the winner pull out all the stops and came well clear of the third.

Sports Express showed some promise last time, but after making the running until the eighth she had no more to give.
