The early leader sat handy in second until going on again two out. She hung across to the inside rail in the last furlong but kept on well.
Winning trainer Henry Candy said Gambling Spirit has never stopped growing. He added that she wants this sort of trip, but she would not have wanted any more rain.
Ten-Cents continues to run well for her new connections, and she finished clear of the rest in second. She got the longer trip.
Shamrock Bay looks slow these days and was never quite getting there, while dual course-and-distance winner Blackmail didn't get going until late on this return to turf after a busy spell on the all-weather; he goes well on fast ground and would not have been suited by the rain.
Long-time leader Mister Completely has had a busy time and probably needs a break, as he had also disappointedover jumps since his recent Nottingham win.
The ground was turning against course specialist Factual Lad, and this can probably be ignored.
*Alan Munro confirmed that Factual Lad was unsuited by the ground.
