Yellow Card had been an eye-catcher on his handicap debut at Newmarket at the weekend, but he didn't look at all keen here in pursuit of the winner, hanging in behind and carrying his head in the air. It may be a different story back on a flatter track, but he looks one to have reservations about.
Spirit Of Coniston was unable to lead, but he was never far away and ran a solid enough race.
Lucayos moved poorly to post and was never happy in the race, while North Fleet looked interesting after three qualifying runs, but connections were concerned the ground would be too quick and the market gave out mixed messages. He finished last, having been under pressure at halfway.
