PERFECT TREASURE's Lingfield second to Matuza read well enough in this context and James Toller was prepared to forgive her a subsequent defeat as something had lit her up that day. She behaved well enough this time and was always helping force the pace - keen enough in the early stages. However, having nosed ahead inside the final furlong she needed hard drivingto stay there.
The daughter of Night Shift is officially rated 70, and this looks nowhere near that level, but she handled the track and ground well enough for an inexperienced filly.
Glenargo, another who was making his debut on turf, appeared to run really well in second, just ahead of Elusive Warrior, who was a springer in the market, but failed for a eighth time to reproduce a promising enough debut fourth at Newbury last year, although a bump two out would not have helped.
Sensuous has been disappointing since last year's Salisbury second, and her recent Chepstow second had been nowhere near her best form. She needed bustling along in the early stages to get the lead on the rail, and she was pressed all of the way. This was a poor effort, and while she may win a race eventually, she is not a betting proposition at present.
*James Doyle reported that Riolo hung left.
*Adam Kirby reported that Mustang Lil was unsuited by the track and ground.
