He is clearly a completely different horse this time around, and absolutely bolted up. Slowly away from the stalls, he had to be scrubbed along in rear to keep on the coat-tails of the main body of the field, but was soon back on the bridle and began to make his move out wide 4f out. He swooped wide and fast to hit the front over 2f out and never looked back, readily drawing right away from his field in the manner of a seriously well-handicapped animal. It will be interesting to see what the Handicapper makes of this, but, on this evidence, he'd be a shoe-in if brought out under the fixed 6lb penalty before being reassessed.
Ulshaw was only ever fighting for place money when making his move, while Lenwade, who likes it here, was another who was made to look paceless by the winner.
Victor Buckwell made modest late headway, having been given plenty to do.
Ready Teddy Go, the early pacesetter, was in trouble 4f out and a spent force passing the 3f marker.
