The early gallop was only modest, resulting in a number of these pulling for their heads, including the winner, but he was soon to the fore and, having quickened 2f out, never really looked like being reeled in thereafter and was ultimately a pretty ready winner. His trainer reported afterwards that he'd be an ideal type for claimers and, although unsure if he'd get another furlong, he's still open to progression.
Neardown Beauty remains a maiden after seven starts, but she once again shaped as though she could find a race. She made rapid headway from the rear to throw down a challenge to the winner and, in doing so, pulled clear of the third.
Sands of Barra was a shade disappointing. Proven at the track and coming here on the back of a solid effort on the all-weather last month, he couldn't quicken when push came to shove, but perhaps the ground may have been plenty fast enough for him.
There was a 3l gap back to Shannon House, who continues to shape with little promise.
