But DARK PLANET was able to confirm the promise of his reappearance, always in touch, leading over 1f out and holding on despite edging left.
Mambo Sun's record of one win in 15 outings suggests that he needs things to go his way, but he has the ability to score off his current mark and ran a good race, doing best of those coming from behind and was also slightly short of room in the closing stages.
Carr Hall ran respectably, making the running, but neither Qualify nor Sunbolt seemed to be suited by conditions - both may be worth another chance with more give underfoot.
