Most of these did not look well treated and being a fillies-only affair, any further upward movement will leave them hard to place to advantage.
Gramada tried to nick it from the front and was still in command two furlongs out before just being found out on the rain-hit ground and her rider putting up overweight.
DESERT ISLAND DISC thrives on such stamina-testing races, having won over two miles in the past. She is into the twilight of her career, just two short of 100 runs, but she showed she has come back in good heart, coming from second-last into the final three furlongs to grind out her 11th win.
Her rating looked plenty high enough with her well-worn form, although she has won off higher a couple of years ago and any rise for this success will test connections' powers of getting her a winning chance in her 100th race.
Gramada tried to use her race-fitness but the 6lb rise for her win last week and overweight proved just too much.
Quizzical Question shaped with promise after her 207-day absence, doing her best work in the final two furlongs after running green when first put under pressure, This was only her third start and first on turf - she could be the one to improve, especially as she settled better here and saw out the trip well.
