While there were plenty of unlucky stories in the pack, HIGH SEASONS did come from a distant second-last into the final three furlongs but was wisely pulled right round the pack to get a clear run through. He is clearly improving for stepping up in trip and, though a small horse, he looks progressive.
He is seen as a dual purpose horse for the future and will step up in trip through the summer as needs dictate.
Tangarita had a clear run and while that suggests she is slightly flattered, she still looked green when shown the front and can improve on the bare form.
All three did not look suited to the muddling affair as they were all outpaced as the pace picked up again into the final three furlongs, but they all arrived at the same time, and with the usual edging towards the inside rail under pressure, especially Constant Cheers, there was an almight scrum-down that nearly flattened Conservation and left the other two nowhere to go with their jockeys reining in sharply.
Given clear runs, the trio left the impression they would have been involved in a tight finish for first.
Conservation's jockey reported being denied a clear run.
Kolhapur was reported never to be travelling.
