DANISH MONARCH was losing his maiden tag at the 29th attempt, despite edging right under pressure to finish midtrack after making all. He failed to take to the all-weather on his last two starts but had shown a modicum of ability on turf last year with this trip looking as far as he wants to go.
Eijaaz plugged on for second on ground that was probably fast enough for him. This was still a disappointing effort on this drop in class.
Louve Heureuse looked a big danger after a mile (his winning trip) but she just failed to see out this longer distance and was not helped by the winner edging out in front of her as she made her strong move.
Trew Flight was very careful around the bend (reported to have slipped) and remains disappointing, while King's Melody was too keen, as was Alzarma.
