MANNIKKO is a big strapping colt who looks to have improvement to come. He only just scrapped home but was five lengths clear of the third, although this confirmed there was little strength in depth.
While Mannikko does not look like achieving the heights his purple sprint breeding might have hoped for, he looks a progressive sort who is starting from a relatively low base. This was his first run on a sounder surface after splashing through mudbaths in his previous three outings.
He has a habit of hanging in his races and did so again here, lugging left under pressure but he has finished well clear of the rest.
Ceredig was conceding racefitness to the front two and was slightly put off by a rival wandering in his path as he started to move into contention. He stayed on steadily for third and can improve on the bare form.
Danny The Dip was outclassed and could not make any impact despite having race-fitness to exploit.
