Conditions were not getting any better for this second leg of the mile maiden but the time was quicker. TEACH TO PREACH had shown some promise on his only try last term and built on that here as he stayed on very determinedly despite edging right in the closing stages. He gave the impression that further in handicaps is where his future lies.

Yeoman Spirit seems to be going the right way as this probably represented a better showing than his all-weather debut last month. He now needs another outing to be eligible for handicaps.

Celtic Spirit ran well following a sluggish start and is one to keep on the right side, especially when tried over a bit further.
