Given a canny ride to set his own pace, slow things down and then quicken off the turn, the gelding had this in the bag two furlongs out and will doubtless be hit by the handicapper. He seems equally as good on sand and can mix and match it.
Nina Fontenail had shown promise on her comeback on the all-weather but found this mile and a quarter an inadequate trip. She stayed on to good effect but by this time the winner had flown. She wants a mile and a half.
Flyingwithoutwings had shown promise on the all-weather and put in an encouraging run on his handicap debut. His stable is doing well with its Flat string and this fellow shouldsoon find an opening.
Lord Of Dreams didn't seem happy on this return to grass and was anchored by his weight, while Garston Star travelled well until lack of match practice took its toll.
