With Kasthari unseating his rider five out, this didn't take a great deal of winning. Conditions were ideal for WILD CANE RIDGE, who came from off a fair pace to win unchallenged.

On his best form he was entitled to win in the style that he did, so this didn't tell us a great deal more about him, but he'll stay further and the only slight blot was the way he jumped to his right. With two chase wins, he'll become harder to place and it remains to be seen whether he'll be good enough to win a handicap off his mark of 130.

Kasthari probably needs better ground than this and though he was in second and still going well enough when he unseated his rider five out, he hadn't jumped as well as he can.

Jexel was well beaten in third, but ran a creditable race on this chase debut.
