Tojoneski held up, hit 5th, never dangerous
High Calibre held up, some headway approaching 2 out, soon weakened
Corso Palladio chased leaders until weakened approaching 2 out
Mollyalice chased leaders until weakened approaching 2 out
Wensleydale Web held up, ridden after 3 out, soon weakened
College Rebel not jump well, always in rear, tailed off when pulled up before 2 out
LESLINGTAYLOR is definitely a smart recruit to hurdling judged on this first effort, as the pace did not suit him - he pulled hard - and the eventual second got first run on him. He did well to reel him in close home and this fairly useful Flat racer is just the sort to make a decent novice.
He jumped well for a first attempt and he will be seen to better advantage with a stronger pace, so could well find significant improvement when stepped up in class.
Indian Pipe Dream is another useful Flat racer and he looks sure to win over hurdles judged on this effort, leading from before 2 out until close home and coming clear of the rest.
On the face of things That Man Fox looks to have shown a fair amountof improvement, but he had the run of the race leading to before 2 out, racing keenly, and it may be dangerous to make a literal interpretation of the form.
Just Waz was also suited by the way the race was run, prominent from the off, but neither Tojoneski nor High Calibre were ever able to challenge. The last-named is another who may do better now qualified for handicaps, but Corso Palladio has still to transfer his French Flat form to hurdles.
